Room designers will meet with the family to learn about the child’s likes and dislikes, favorite colors, special requests for the rom, etc.  They will take measurements of the room, windows, and doorways, take photographs for reference, etc. and then create a design board and budget to be approved by the executive director. Once approved, they may begin shopping for items and schedule a makeover day. 

Work with the room designers to fill their needs for the types of volunteers they need for each room several weeks before Makeover Day.  Send waiver forms to volunteers and make sure they are updated each year. They will also arrange for volunteers at fundraising events. 

Serve on and/or lead committees for special events and other fundraising activities.

Research and write grants seeking funding for Haven Makers.

Assist room designer with the work flow, assign jobs to be completed, update family with progress and coordinate their arrival, obtain items such as balloons and treats for the celebration, bring water and snacks, order and pickup the volunteers’ lunch. Food and beverages will be covered by Haven Makers and sometimes donated.

Needed the day of event and for marketing materials.

Create custom works such as name plaques, painted picture frames, paint wall mural, etc.

Professionals required.

Installs ceilings fans, light fixtures, etc.

Builds special items such as custom headboards or themed furniture, installs shiplap, flooring, etc.

Installs computer systems, networking, stereo equipment and other IT installations.

Includes miscellaneous tasks such as – furniture assembly (beds, dressers, nightstands, bookshelves, lamps, etc), organizing (arranging children’s personal items in drawers, closets, shelves), hanging decor (photos, art, televisions, etc)
